What is The Sinking City 2?

The Sinking City 2 is a third-person survival horror from Frogwares, set in a flooded, Lovecraftian 1920s Arkham. You play as Calvin Rafferty, who must descend into the drowned city to save the woman he loves from an eldritch deity.

Combat is deliberate and resource-lean: mind your inventory, take on unnerving puzzles, double back through unlocked shortcuts for supplies, and finish optional investigations that unlock safer routes and upgrades.

A standalone story separate from the 2019 original, it trades open-world investigation for a tighter, Resident Evil-style survival horror experience.

Top Tips for New Players

The most important things to know before your first run through Arkham.

Manage Ammo and Medicine Like a Budget

Bullets and bandages are scarce. Return to the safe room to stash loot and re-equip — wasting resources is the fastest way to die.

Aim for the Red Glowing Spots

Enemies take far more damage from the red weak points on their bodies. Keep distance, line up a clean shot, and focus fire.

Do Optional Investigations

Optional cases never gate progress, but they unlock safer routes, hard supplies, and weapon upgrades that change how you survive.

Read Every Note and Codex Entry

Safe codes and puzzle answers are hidden in documents and journals. Investigate before you start guessing combinations.

Unlock Shortcuts and Use the Skiff

Arkham is flooded. Unlock shortcuts behind collapsed seawalls and travel by boat to save time and avoid ambushes.

Plan for New Game Plus

Two achievements require a New Game Plus run. Keep your favorite build in mind — the second run is faster and tougher.
